The U.S. Department of Education has eliminated hundreds of positions through an illegal Reduction in Force (RIF) — a move that guts the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS) and the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) , which oversee implementation of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) .
